Great Valley SD librarian takes advantage of her position to indoctrinate students.

Kelsey Bogan, who has been the “library media specialist” at Great Valley High School in Malvern, PA since 2016, is a prime example of an agenda-driven ideologue who abuses her power at taxpayers’ expense to indoctrinate students to her far-Left, woke agenda.

1. In 2021, PRONOUN PINS were distributed in the GVHS library. A picture of these pins can be viewed by clicking on the jpeg file in the “supporting documents” at the bottom of this email. The pins provide three choices for pronouns: “THEY, THEM THEIRS;”SHE, HER HERS;” and “HE, HIM, HIS.” Each pin has “My pronouns are” at the top of the pin and “GLSEN” at the bottom. GLSEN is an acronym for “GAY, LESBIAN & STRAIGHT EDUCATION NETWORK.”

2. According to Ms. Bogan’s blog (https://dontyoushushme.com/) one of her main priorities is “improving diversity representation in library collections.” This is evidenced by the list of 496 books purchased (with taxpayer monies) for the GVSD under her tenure during the 2020-2021 years: https://dontyoushushme.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/2020-2021-purchases.pdf (also accessed by supporting documents below). Reviewing the list verifies that much of this collection exposes and promotes her woke, Leftist agenda. Along with standard selections, there is an inordinate number of books that focus on race, black victimization, black issues, CRT/antiracism, women’s issues, LGBTQ issues, etc., etc., and of course an anti-Trump book (“Too Much and Never Enough How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man”).

3. An on-line article in which Ms. Bogan was interviewed notes that she avoids having parents as volunteers in her library in order to safeguard her students’ privacy. The article notes: “Bogan and her assistant work hard to build relationships with students and teach them that their choices—from any questions they might have to what books they read—are private.” Exact quotes from Bogan are: “I want [my teenage students] to feel absolutely certain the library belongs to them; that it’s a place they can exist without judgment from adults,” and “I have the incredible privilege and honor to be one of the very few adults in a teenager’s life who isn’t responsible for any of the pressures they feel."

While this might SEEM like a noble objective to some, this non-transparent mode of operation would UNDOUBTEDLY enable Bogan to INFLUENCE AND INDOCTRINATE STUDENTS to her far-Left viewpoints without their parents’ knowledge, consent or interference.
