“Last week, the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) issued a letter on behalf of all 133 division superintendents to State Superintendent Jillian Balow, urging the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to focus on equity rather than excellence.

You don’t have to take it from me: The letter itself says, “Division superintendents disagree with the administration’s goal of “restoring excellence” in Virginia’s public schools.”

The woke ideas in the letter won’t help close the achievement gap nor will they help with COVID-19 shutdown learning loss. Instead, they would use taxpayer dollars to fund woke indoctrination in schools.

This is how tyranny starts: A small group of elitists acts in secret and because they think they know what is best for everyone else. This is a sneaky attempt to undermine Gov. Youngkin’s Executive Order #1 against teaching racist and sexually explicit concepts in schools, and Superintendent Balow should reject it out of hand.
