Indoctrination in Your State & District

Penn Wynn Elementary School CRT Curriculum is the Worst!

Lower Merion School District, Pennsylvania

Submitted: 2022-05-15

Story:

Penn Wynn Elementary’s Cultural Proficiency Program represents some of worst and most strident tenants of a critical race theory political indoctrination campaign including, race identity essentialism, oppressor/oppressed (superior/inferior) racial construction, white privilege/white culture construction, systemic/structural racism, antiracism and social justice. While many of these core tenants were taught in all LMSD elementary schools in 2020, the Penn Wynn program is to be exported and instituted to all LMSD elementary schools next year. It has been held up by the LMSD school board and administration as its instructional model. It has all the worst tropes of CRT.

Linked readings lists/videos include and promote new foundational texts of critical race theory such as White Fragility by Robin DeAngelo and How to be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi. Reading lists for parents and children include books like Not My Idea: A Book about Whiteness (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uS-WasnB-8) which explicitly label white Americans and white culture as having entered a deal with the Devil (pg. 58-59). A video link to How America Invented Race | The History of White People in America (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppvbBY3ce8Y) is a not vailed Marxist construction of American history, race, and class structure, including statements such as “the rich are few and the poor are many…the poor see themselves as one, they have a common bond and a common enemy.”
